Topic: The first bilateral hand transplantation in the Netherlands: results after 2 years

Prof Dr Steven Hovius worked for 33 years at the plastic surgery department of the Erasmus MC Rotterdam and is an excellent teacher. He has had a significant contribution for the development of hand surgery. He is an advocate of the importance of hand therapy to be part and parcel of hand surgery in the rehabilitation of patients with hand problems. He and his team at the Radboud UMC Nijmegen were the first to perform a bilateral hand transplantation in the Netherlands.
